Childcare Kitchen Cleaning in Melbourne
What your agreed scope can include
- Accessible benches, sinks, taps and agreed splashbacks
- External cupboard fronts and handles
- Eating tables and chairs once cleared
- Kitchen floors and accessible edges
- General waste removal to agreed collection points
Separate cooking duties from contractor tasks
Food handling, dishwashing, temperature checks and cleaning during preparation remain with your kitchen team unless expressly allocated. Confirm who clears benches, removes food and washes equipment before the contractor arrives. A cleaning agreement does not replace the centre's food-safety program.
Agree products and food-contact surfaces
Identify food-contact surfaces, approved products, rinsing requirements and the kitchen's cleaning and sanitising procedures before work starts. Follow product labels and your food-safety program rather than applying a generic bathroom procedure in a food area. Cleaning equipment used in toilets should not be shared with kitchen work.
Detailed appliance work needs a separate scope
Internal oven, fridge, exhaust and grease-filter work is not automatically included. State what can be safely accessed and whether equipment will be switched off or emptied by staff. Specialist duct or equipment servicing should be arranged separately rather than described as routine kitchen cleaning.
Plan the whole centre, not just one room
Combine these tasks with scheduled daily childcare cleaning and agree separate periodic deep cleaning where needed. Use our room-by-room checklist to allocate responsibilities.
