When centres book a deep clean

Many Melbourne childcare centres schedule deep cleans during holiday closures, before a new term, after renovations, or at regular intervals agreed in their service agreement.

What a deep clean can include

• Skirting boards, door frames and wall marks
• Behind and under furniture and shelving
• Inside cupboards and storage areas (once emptied by staff)
• Vents, light switches and reachable light fittings
• Detailed bathroom and nappy change area cleaning, including build-up
• Detailed kitchen cleaning within the agreed scope

The exact tasks are confirmed in writing before the clean.

What deep cleaning is not

Before booking, list items staff will empty or move, areas that cannot be safely accessed and the time available before reopening. Agree product suitability, drying time, waste arrangements and a completion record. Discuss any damaged surfaces separately: cleaning is not repair or restoration.
